A Swedish soldier with his camouflaged AK5 rifle. The rifle itself bears no relation to the Russian gun; it’s more of a variant of the FN-FNC. The AK5 replaced the AK4, which was a licensed copy of the German H&K G3. No doubt the move was towards the NATO shift for firearms using 5.56x45mm and AR magazines.
